CENTER MARK IN THE FABRIC, CAUSES, AND REMEDIES
CENTER MARK IN THE FABRIC:
A straight line in the warp direction in the just middle of the fabric is known as center mark . The fabric having center mark influences whole fabric. It looks like a fabric made of two grey yarn lots even after fabric woven by one grey yarn lot. The both parts show shade difference. When this fabric gets dyed the shade difference between both parts gets more prominent than grey fabric. The shade difference appears more clear in dark shade than light shade. This kind of shade difference is not accepted by consumer.
This kind of defect appears in the wider width fabric only. There are two main reasons behind this defect.
1 - USE OF TWIN BEAMS IN WIDER WITH LOOM:
If twin beams are used to weave wider width fabric, there is always a possibility of warp tension variation between two beams. There are so many factors which cause variation between two warp beams being used together in wider width fabric. Tension or warping creel is one of them. Warping creel tension does not remain constant during warping. If we make two warp beams from same creel. The warping tension varies due to yarn package size. The yarn tension is minimum when package contains full yarn length. The yarn tension in the warping creel gets maximum when yarn package reaches to exhaustion point. This problem results in the form of variation in warp beam density between two beams. Now these beams goes to loom. When a weaver keeps equal tension for both beam, he observes a tension variation between both beams. He tries to keep the equal tension of both beams by feeling it manually. Many times the tension of both beams doesn't get equal. This tension variation results in the form of center mark in the fabric.
If a weaver needs to weave wider width fabric, he should use loom equipped with single barrel beam in the loom.
2 - USE OF CENTER SUPPORT IN HEALD SHAFTS IN WIDER WITH LOOM:
The center support is used to prevent bending of the heald shaft in the center. If the center support is not mounted in the center of heald shaft correctly, it causes center mark in the fabric. A technician should take following precautions to prevent this kind of fabric defect:
* The loom technician should find the center point of heald shaft precisely.
* The center of the reed should be find out accurately.
* The drawn reed space should be used to calculate the reed center.
* The sley center should find precisely .
* The reed and sley center must be matched to each others.
* The beaming of warp should be precisely.
There should be equal distance between flange and tail of the beam barrel at both sides.
