MISSING WEAVE OR MISSING DESIGN IN THE FABRIC, A FABRIC DEFECT, A WEAVING DEFECT, CAUSES, AND REMEDIES

MISSING WEAVE OR MISSING DESIGN IN THE FABRIC:

This defect appears horizontally in the fabric.
"The particular place in the fabric, where the design is not appearing on the fabric surface in the form of a regular pattern is termed as missing design". This fabric defect occurs due to human error as well as mechanical and electrical problems in the loom. If loom technician forgets to put a peg in design lattice or forget to punch a hole in the design card, these mistakes appear in on the fabric surface in the form of missing design. In electronic dobby, wrong programming of peg plan in the loom software results in missing design. Weaver should be very careful during the programming of peg plan. If any heald shaft does not work properly, it results in missing design. It happens due to the electronic problem in loom hardware or software. A mechanical fault in dobby also results in missing design.
