COLOUR WISE YARN CONSUMPTION IN YARN-DYED CHECK AND STRIPE FABRIC:

The calculation of yarn consumption in the yarn-dyed check and stripe fabrics is a complicated process. It can't be found by using the formula of GSM directly. There are two methods of yarn consumption in yarn-dyed check and stripe. 

1st method: 

A complete repeat of the check is cut precisely from the fabric. The dimensions are measured with the help of a measuring scale. Now the yarn is separated from the fabric. The groups of various colours of warp and weft present in the fabric are found. These yarn groups are weighed with the help of a weighing scale accurately. 

Now we count the total repeats in the full width of the fabric. Suppose the no of repeats is not a whole number, the remaining colour groups of a fraction of repeat are added to the whole number colour groups extra. Thus we find the colour wise weight of yarn per repeat of the full width of the fabric. Now the yarn consumption for one linear meter of the fabric is calculated.
