The jute fibre is a natural fibre. Jute is the most useful vegitable fibre after cotton. It is obtained from stem of jute plant. Jute fibre is used to make many types of products. Before the development of polythene and poly propylene sheets, the jute fabrics were mostly used for packaging purpose, and ropes etc. It lost it's utility as the most usable fabric after the development of polypropylene and polythene sheets.
Today, people have known about disadvantages of polythene sheet. It is too harmful for our environment. This polythene sheet do not get decomposed naturally. Many countries has banned it's use. The jute is now getting it's popularity as packaging material very rapidly. Since, this is naturally biodegradable fibre and do not has any harmful effects for environment.
