ADVANTAGES OF POLYESTER FIBRE:

The polyester fibre has below advantages:

• The polyester fabric is comparatively cheaper
than natural fibres.

• It’s extremely versatile. It ranges from very soft to very firm.

•  The polyester fibre has very good tensile strength and elongation. 

•  The polyester fibre shows very good washing, rubbing and light fastness. 

•  The polyester fibre resists to grow the bacteria in the fabric. 

•  The polyester fabric offers improved dimensional stability.

•  The polyester fabric has very good washability. Polyester fabric gets dried quickly.

• The polyester fabric can be recycled. 

DISADVANTAGES OF POLYESTER FIBRE:

Polyester fibre has following disadvantages:

• The polyester fabric has poor breathability. It doesn't allow air to pass from outside to inside of the clothes at normal atmospheric pressure.

• The polyester fabric has low moisture content. It doesn't absorb moisture quickly and and gives uncomfortable feel to wearers in humid atmospheric conditions.

•  Since pthe polyester has good heat conductivity, it doesn't prevent to pass outside ( atmospheric heat) or inside heat (body's heat). Thus wearer's body feels hot or cool according to atmospheric conditions.

• The polyester fabric has poor pilling characteristic.

• The polyester fibre doesn't gets biodegradated. It affects our environment.

• The polyester fabric gives cheap look to wearer.

•   The price of polyester directly depends upon the petroleum price.
