Climax double acting negative dobby shedding mechanism

Climax double-acting negative dobby shedding mechanism:

This is a double-acting negative dobby. Since climax dobby has two jack levers so that it produces more even shed than Keighley dobby. This dubby works efficiently even at higher revolutions per minute of the loom.

Structure of climax dobby:

T-Shape lever is mounted on the dobby shaft C. The T shape lever makes a reciprocating motion on the dobby shaft. A row of upper knives is mounted at the A-side of the T shape lever and another row of lower knives is mounted at the B side of the T shape lever. These knives get free at their pivots. The upper hook rests on the upper end of the upper needle. One end of the upper hook gets engaged with s shape lever. The other end of this hook comes just over the upper knife. The lower knife rests on the upper end of the lower need G.  One end of the lower hook gets connected with S- shape lever while the other end comes just over the lower knife. The lower ends of upper needle and lower needle rest upon their respective feelers E and D. Two jack levers are connected with S- shape lever through different links. One jack lever is mounted on the left-hand side and the other jack lever is mounted on the right-hand side of the loom. These jack levers are connected with the heald shaft through leather straps. One spiral spring is mounted at bottom of each side of the heald shaft. A pattern cylinder is mounted under the feelers. The design lattice is mounted over the pattern cylinder. The T- shape lever gets connected with L shape crank mounted at the bottom shaft through the connecting rod.

Working principle of climax dobby:

When the bottom shaft rotates, the L shape crank mounted on this bottom shaft also rotates. The lower end of the connecting rod is attached with L shape crank while the upper end of the connecting rod is attached with T shape lever. When the L shape crank rotates the T shape lever makes a reciprocating motion on the bobby shaft.

The pattern cylinder rotates with the help of a ratchet wheel and powl. As the pegs mounted in the leg comes under the feeler, the one end of the feeler lifts up slightly. The other end of the feeler comes downward slightly at the same time. Since the lower ends of upper and lower needles rest upon these feelers so that the needles also move downward if the peg presses the one end of feelers. Since the hooks rest upon their respective needle so that the hook falls over the knife when the needle comes downward. The knife pulls the fallen hook on the right-hand side through a reciprocating motion of the T lever. The other end of the hooks pulls the jack levers connected with S shape levers. Now the heald shaft goes upward. The spiral spring helps to bring down the heald shaft.
